travelogue - Blog in isolation
Think this is my first comment here. I've been lurking for a while. Some of your posts really crack me up! Keep up the good work.
Mathew Butler.
Tracking blog comments effectively is something else I am interested in.
I am currently trialling commentful, co.mments and coComment in parallel which means labouriously tracking each thread of interest (3 times) to compare how well or otherwise the different tools work over a period of time.
Sometimes, I might also want to track a conversation, I haven't necessarily contributed to.
I set up RSS feeds so I don't have to keep checking 47 blogs for any new comments.
Another feed of interest (but only provided by co.comments) is for all your own comments scattered across all different sites. I then feed this RSS into the Tumble Dryer. [Come to think of it, this isn't actually working]
I am genuinely interested how everyone else manages this problem.
It was all so much easier when there were few blogs about, now I track a multitude and I don't have the best answer.
I use Google Reader to aggregate and it is very good, even letting you catch up on content offline. For comments thiough you still need to go to the original page, and comments aren't tracked as changes. I'd like to see an RSS feed that tracks comments as new content.
Can you share a link to "Tumble Dryer"? I'd be interested in any conclusions you come to about the various schemes you have for tracking comments.
SezWho seems like a step in the right direction. Creating a new type of content - comments. Need to use this a bit more though - I reviewed your comment above and I needed to re-submit my email address. I hope I don't have to do this each time. Would also be good to be able to have comments nested - but maybe this is something to do with wordpress. Not sure. Certainly need to play around a bit more.ur
Finally - based only on some of your more musical posts. Maybe you will enjoy this - just arrived in my inbox: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YcF0bexWsos

Many thanks for the link to the Radiohead/Ceremony cover. Played with more passion than a lot of New Order versions.
Also enjoyed a cover of The Smiths 'Headmaster Ritual' from the same set.
Currently compiling my thoughts on commenting tools which will be blogged not tumbled imminently.
About to go looking for that smiths cover...
